About Us

The New Horizon Chorus is a part of the Greater Louisville Chapter of the non-profit Barbershop Harmony Society. We’re a male choral ensemble with members from all around Kentuckiana, and we enjoy performing a variety of American popular songs in our close-harmony a cappella style.

We meet at 7:30 on Monday evenings at the Hardin County Schools Performing Arts Center at John Hardin High School, which is on W.A. Jenkins Road in Elizabethtown, KY. There, we enjoy rehearsing for performances and practicing for occasional singing contests, which we use as a way to constantly improve our singing and performance skills. We hold our Annual Chapter Show at the Louisville Memorial Auditorium on the second or third Saturday each December; a show for which we are partnered with our friends from the Derby City Chorus, an International Champion ensemble from the female singing society, Harmony, Incorporated.

We are available to perform for your organization’s event or for your private celebration, whether it’s a black-tie affair or a block party. We can even take the place of your church choir when your singers go on vacation! Because our singers are dedicated volunteers who sing for the love of music, we give a surprisingly professional presentation, and we can often meet your budget limitations. Please use our contact page to make your kind inquiry, and feel free to browse our website for more information.

Meanwhile, if you or someone you know is a gentleman from Kentuckiana who likes to sing, we invite you to schedule a visit to one of our weekly rehearsals. You’ll hear a sample of our music and sense the fraternal aspect of our group of friends.. We find that men who like to sing together are often dedicated to improvement, both as performers and as men. That improvement and interaction leads to higher self-image; and from these building blocks, strong bonds of friendship are constructed. We accept for membership men of good character from all walks of life (who exhibit adequate skills), with no regard for race, creed, religion or other status; and our diverse individuals treat each other with the respect they are due.
